After you have connected your Garmin Connect account to Run With Hal, you will see options to apply your Garmin data to your planned runs.
What do I need to do to ensure my Garmin Runs are synced to Run With Hal?
- You need to connect your Garmin Connect account to Run With Hal.
- You need to save your RUN on your Garmin device. Note: only workouts logged as Run will be synced to Run With Hal.
- You need to sync your Garmin device to Garmin Connect.
- You need a strong internet connection so Run With Hal can request your completed run data from Garmin Connect.
Note: If you dismiss or delete your Garmin run data in Run With Hal, you will not be able to resync this data, but you can still manually add and edit any workout.
How do I apply one Garmin run to my planned workout?
After you have saved and synced your Garmin run, you will see a pink note on your workout card that says "Garmin Run Found - Tap to Apply". Tap this text to see the workout edit screen where you can add your subjective effort and fatigue metrics, add any personal notes, and save your workout.
You can also apply your Garmin run data by tapping the workout card and tapping the pink "+" icon and selecting the Garmin option.
How do I apply multiple Garmin runs to my planned workout?
If you have completed more than one run with your Garmin on a single day, you will be given the opportunity to select one or more of your runs to apply to today's planned run. You will see a pink note on your workout card that says "Multiple Garmin Runs Found". Tap this text. You will be presented with a list of your runs for the day, tap each run you would like to include as completed data. Run With Hal will sum this information and take you to the workout edit screen where you can add your subjective effort and fatigue metrics, add any personal notes, and save your workout.
Any runs that are not selected during this process will be removed and no longer available in Run With Hal.
What if I log my completed data, then sync my Garmin later in the day?
If you have applied a Garmin run or manually logged a run, then complete a second run with your Garmin you will see a pink note on your workout card that says "Garmin Run Found". If you tap this text, you will be given the option to replace your current completed data with the new run, ignore the new run, or manually edit your workout data. At this time there is no way to add the previously recorded data and new data together, you will have to do this manually.
What if I haven't recorded my workouts in a few days and am brought to the Bulk Workout Edit Screen?
If you have not logged your completed run data in Run With Hal for a few days, you will be continue to be required to record all of your previous run data before your plan is rescheduled. You will see the option to apply your Garmin workouts per the sections above.
