If your goal race is further out than the set duration above, you will be placed on a base plan until you are at the set duration from your race day. Once the base plan ends, you will automatically transition to your training plan, which will take you to your race day. Hal will let you know when your event-specific plan is about to start, or you can see this date in the Plan Overview.
Hal's training plans have a set duration based on the distance of the plan. For reference:
- Marathon plans = 18 weeks long
- Half-marathon plans = 12 weeks long
- 15k/10 mile plans = 10 weeks long
- 10k, 8k, and 5k plans = 8 weeks long
